Cook & Boardman, Inc. (“C&B”) is a privately-owned engineering services and distribution company serving commercial real estate construction contractors and building owners.  We distribute engineered commercial hollow metal and wood doors, hollow metal door frames, architectural hardware and accessories (including electronic access control devices), and washroom accessories.  We have distribution relationships covering all of the lines of all of the major vendors that serve our industry.  Founded in 1955, C&B enjoys a superior customer service reputation.

Our primary customers are general contractors and commercial building owners with needs ranging from replacements or small renovations to the largest and most complex institutional projects.  While our primary market area is the Carolinas, C&B services projects in neighboring states and beyond.  The original founding partners, Frank Cook and Jack Boardman, saw opportunity in the 1950's to work with contractors and architects in a growing Charlotte metro area.  Expansion with locations in Greenville and Columbia, SC markets came later, and in 2006, the Company widened its footprint again by adding full service locations in Charleston, SC (covering the coastal areas of SC, NC and GA) and Winston-Salem, NC (serving the Piedmont Triad and selected western NC markets).  The Boardman family remains involved today and in 2005, a local investor group provided additional capital to fulfill growing needs within C&B's broadening market area.  In the last two years, the C&B team has doubled and now numbers over 110 professionals.  Our resources today include some of the door and hardware industry's most recognized and capable professionals (see our prequalification data for information on experience and credentials).  Throughout its different phases, C&B has maintained emphasis on reliability, strong financial resources supporting the bonding capacity necessary for this business and service capability to anticipate and meet customer needs.
