Cook & Boardman Acquires National Millwork

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., January 3, 2022 -- The Cook & Boardman Group LLC (“Cook & Boardman” or “C&B”), the nation’s leading distributor of commercial door entry solutions and security integration services has announced the acquisition of Riviera Beach, FL-based National Millwork (NMI). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

National Millwork was founded in 1998 by Otto Nonnenmann and Michael Bosco with the goal of becoming a full service door, hardware and millwork company that would be both supplier and subcontractor to the construction industry. With a focus on manufacturing the highest quality doors and a commitment to installing everything they manufacture, NMI has experienced tremendous growth and expansion.

In 2015 NMI expanded its geographic reach and distribution capabilities with the acquisition of Elite Door & Trim in Denton, TX (which is included in the transaction). Today the company operates full hollow metal, door, key & hardware shops; manufactures and installs pre-hung, pocket, bypass and exterior doors, clubhouse and lobby finishes and interior trim and mouldings. NMI also supplies and installs Division 10 specialty products, including commercial bathroom partitions and washroom accessories.

Cook & Boardman Acquires 3Sixty Integrated

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., December 14, 2021 -- The Cook & Boardman Group LLC (“Cook & Boardman” or “C&B”), the leading specialty distributor of commercial door entry solutions and systems integration services has announced the acquisition of San Antonio, TX-based 3Sixty Integrated (3Sixty). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2002 by Joseph Ndesandjo, 3Sixty is an enterprise security and systems integrator specializing in video surveillance, electronic access control, alarm and critical communications. The company serves healthcare, banking, retail and education customers throughout Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Alabama.

Universal Manufacturing was founded in 1977 by Jimmy Freudenberg and is led by Russ Gordon, company president. UMCO is a full service distributor of commercial doors, frames, hardware and Division 10 specialty products. The company serves general contractors and end users nationally from its base of operations in Memphis.

(JDS). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.


Founded in 1989 by Randal Olsen and Dean Crosby, JDS is a turnkey provider of opening solutions including doors, frames, hardware and Division 10 specialty products. The company serves general contractors and end users throughout the greater Seattle area from its base of operations in Everett, WA.

The company operates under three divisions: Doors & Hardware, Overhead Doors and Integrated Security Solutions, and serves customers in Central and South Texas from its headquarters in Victoria and an additional office in La Grange, TX.

The Cook & Boardman Group Acquires James Doorcheck, Inc.

The Cook & Boardman Group, LLC (“Cook & Boardman” or “C&B”), the leading specialty distributor of commercial door entry solutions and systems integration services, announced the acquisition of Philadelphia, PA-based James Doorcheck, Inc. (JDI). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1932, James Doorcheck is a leading distributor of commercial door opening products and is highly regarded as a total solutions provider – furnishing, installing and repairing steel doors and frames, wood doors, electronic access control equipment and Division 10 specialty products. The company serves the Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia and North Carolina markets out of its headquarters facility in Philadelphia, PA and additional branch location in Virginia Beach, VA.

The Cook & Boardman Group's CEO Darrin Anderson is Appointed to USO SE Region Board of Directors

The USO Southeast Region, the non-profit military service organization whose mission is to strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country throughout their service to the nation, is pleased to announce the appointment of Darrin Anderson to its Regional Board of Directors. 

Darrin Anderson, CEO of The Cook and Boardman Group, recently began a two-year term as a board member at the USO Southeast Region. “The USO has an immense capacity as a military service organization to positively impact the lives of our service members and their families,” said Anderson. “As a West Point graduate and veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm, I’m honored to serve on the Board and eager to contribute to the quality of service associated with the USO.”

Regional board members serve as USO’s goodwill ambassadors, helping to bridge the gap and build relationships between military and civilian communities and raise awareness about military service members and their families’ needs. The regional board of directors’ roles and responsibilities also include advising the USO Southeast Regional President, Jim Whaley, and his staff on active duty service members, fundraising, and strategic initiatives.
